Accessing the Risk Matrix
To access the Risk Matrix settings, users need to be assigned a role with appropriate permissions for the Risk Matrix component. Typically, this includes users assigned to roles like "Risk Manager" or custom roles configured with Read and Update permissions for this entity. If you cannot access this area, contact your system administrator to confirm your permissions.
To navigate to the Risk Matrix Settings screen, use the left-hand navigation menu to open the Settings dropdown. From here, select Risk Matrix.
Setting Up Impact & Likelihood
The initial screen of the Risk Matrix Settings page shows:
- Tabs for configuring Impact, Likelihood, and Rating Scale in the Settings panel
- The associated risk matrix grid.
Configuring Impact & Likelihood Ratings
The Risk Matrix is pre-configured with a 5x5 scale, featuring five default options for both Impact and Likelihood. The number of options can be adjusted between 1 and 7.
To add options, click the Add New Item button or the "+" icon on the matrix.
To remove options, click the Trash icon in the left-hand menu or on the matrix.
Changes to these lists are automatically reflected in the corresponding default option lists (Impact, Likelihood) used in the RISKMATRIX function.
To rename an option, click into the text box in the menu and edit the name as needed.
Setting Up the Risk Rating
The Rating Scale determines the return value of the RISKMATRIX function. Similar to Impact and Likelihood, it starts with five default options.
To adjust the rating scale:
- Add or remove options using the same methods described above
- Rename options by clicking the text box and entering a new name
Customizing Colours on the Grid
The colour of each rating is assigned automatically based on its position in the Rating Scale list.
To change the colour of a cell in the matrix, select the cell and choose the desired rating from the colour picker. To update multiple cells at once, hold Shift for block selection or Ctrl for specific cell selection, click the relevant cells, and then choose a rating from the colour picker to apply it to all selected cells.
