Risk Heatmap Setup

Access to Reports and Dashboards

Any user with permissions to view a dashboard can create a Risk Heatmap chart type, provided they:

  • Have permissions to edit the dashboard (either as the creator or through explicit permissions).
  • Have access to the underlying data for the entities being reported on.

If the user does not have permission to view the data for a specific entity, the chart will not display any records.

Setting Up the Risk Heatmap

  1. Navigate to a Dashboard:
Open any dashboard you have access to in edit mode, by clicking the Show Settings button, and create a Report component. Drag the component to your preferred location on the dashboard.

  2. Select the Target Entity:
Choose the entity that will serve as the source of data for the heatmap. For example, selecting Risk Assessment then Risk Matrix for the chart type.

  3. Configure Axes:
Select the attributes for the two axes, ensuring they use the risk matrix rating scales (e.g., Impact and Likelihood).

Note: Selecting attributes that do not align with the risk matrix rating scales will prevent the report from generating records.

Using the Drill-Down Functionality

Once the chart is generated, click on the number bubbles on the heatmap to drill into specific records.

  • Each bubbles represents the number of records that fall into that point on the matrix.
  • For example, clicking a bubble labeled "2" in the Medium Inherent Rating and Medium Residual Rating cell will display those two corresponding records for the Risk entity.
