Adding Attributes

Understanding the Attributes Tab

The Attributes tab in the side panel displays a list of Entity Attributes associated with the Entity for which you are creating a view. These attributes represent the data fields users can interact with on the view.

Adding Attributes to the Canvas

  1. Choose Components from the configuration panel.
  2. Select and drag the desired attribute from the Attributes tab onto the canvas.
  3. Reposition attributes by dragging them to a new location.
  4. Remove an attribute by clicking the bin icon in the configuration panel or by dragging it off screen.

Configuring Attribute Components

Access the configuration panel for an attribute component by clicking on it. The configuration panel may display one or more of the following options, depending on the attribute type:

  • Show Label: Toggle the label on or off. The label appears above the component and displays the name of the attribute.
  • Show Placeholder Text: Toggle placeholder text on or off. Placeholder text appears inside the component and is replaced as the user interacts with it. This text is set when the attribute is added to the entity.
  • Show Guidance Text: Toggle guidance text on or off. Guidance text appears below the component and provides additional instructions. This text is also set when the attribute is added to the entity.

Attribute Configuration

All other attribute-specific configurations, such as default values or validation rules, are managed when the Attribute is configured on the entity itself.
