Creating and configuring a Report

Overview

Reports provide a visual representation of your record data, helping users analyze trends, monitor performance, and track key metrics. With various chart types and filtering options, reports offer valuable insights for decision-making.

This guide explains how to create a report, configure its settings, and ensure that the displayed data meets your needs.

Adding a Report to a Dashboard

  1. Open the Dashboard where you want to add the Report and click Show Settings.
  2. Locate the Report option in the Components section of the sidebar and drag it onto the canvas.
  3. Once dropped, the side panel will display configuration options for setting up the Report.
  4. Reports can be rearranged by dragging and dropping. Resize a chart by hovering over its corner until an arrow appears.

Configuration options for data and display will vary depending on the selected chart type.

Axes and Data

For charts such as bar, column, line, and bubble charts:

  • Set up horizontal and vertical axes by selecting suitable Attributes from the chosen Entity or linked Entity.

Filtering

Filter chart data by clicking the Add Filter button. Examples include:

  • Show only records where State is equal to "Complete".
  • Display assessments with a Date Completed in the last 2 months.

Aggregation

Aggregation defines how data is calculated before being plotted. Available options include:

  • Count
  • Sum
  • Average
  • Min
  • Max

For example, selecting "Average" with Risk Category on the horizontal axis and Risk Score on the vertical axis will display the average risk score for each category.

Series and Stacking

Certain chart types support series and stacking configurations:

  • Series: Allows data to be split by another factor, shown as a legend.
  • Stacking Options for bar and column charts:
    • Clustered: Displays data as multiple bars positioned next to each other.
    • Stacked: Displays data as stacked segments within a single bar.
    • 100% Stacked: Bars span from 0-100%, showing percentages.

Size (Bubble Charts Only)

For bubble charts, an additional Attribute can be selected to determine the size of each bubble.

Limits and Thresholds (Gauge Charts)

Gauge charts allow you to define a start and end value (default is 0-100).

  • Use the Display tab to set ranges with associated colors by entering maximum values and selecting colors.
