Creating and configuring a Dashboard

What is a Dashboard?

A dashboard is a customizable page of reports that displays and aggregates data to support prioritization and inform decision-making. Dashboards are highly flexible and can be tailored to focus on a single application or pull data from multiple sources, giving you a comprehensive view of your business.

Creating a Dashboard

To create a new dashboard:

  1. navigate to the dashboards area via the Reporting menu. You'll see a list of all existing dashboards you have access to.
  2. Click the Add Dashboard button at the bottom of the table to create a new dashboard. This action provides a blank canvas to populate with reports.
Note: All users can create dashboards, but the data displayed in each report is limited to what they have permission to view.

By default, dashboards open in view mode, where configuration options are hidden. To make changes:

  • Click Show Settings in the top-right corner to reveal the settings sidebar.
  • Enter a name and description, and add any desired dashboard-level filters.
  • To return to view mode, click Hide Settings

Once the dashboard is set up, you can begin adding charts and reports. For more information, see the guide on Creating and configuring a Report.

Filtering Dashboards

Dashboard-level filters can be applied through the settings sidebar and will affect all reports within the dashboard.

Filters are linked to the hierarchy feature. When applied, only records matching the selected hierarchy will be displayed in each report. When a hierarchy is selected, but no nodes are specified, only records that are linked to that hierarchy will be shown.

To remove a filter, click the delete icon in the sidebar.

Deleting Dashboards

To delete a dashboard:

  1. Go to the Dashboards area via the Reporting menu.

  2. Find the dashboard you want to remove.

  3. Click the delete icon next to it.

Note: Deleting a dashboard is permanent. Only users with edit permissions on the dashboard can delete it.
